meditation for a rainy afternoon
February 14, 2021
I love a good rainy day. Not all the time, mind you, but every once in a while a good torrential downpour can really just be *chef’s kiss*. It’s been pretty rainy in the ATL here this week, and I’ve been surprisingly…productive. Calmer. More at ease. Rainy days used to kill my vibe, but as I’ve gotten older (and started doing yoga) I’ve found the beauty in slowing down and finding stillness. I’ve begun to think there’s some magical property in precipitation that makes me whimsical and more creative. There’s just something about sitting next to a window with a good cup of tea and Taylor Swift’s Evermore album that really makes me feel like the main character in some coming-of-age YA novel.
I recorded this simple guided mediation to evoke feelings of peace and invite the soothing sounds of nature to wash over you by focusing on the breath and bringing awareness back into the physical form. Take a listen and enjoy!
